The billions of stars in the Milky Way, our home galaxy, appear to rise like smoke from a farmyard west of Saskatoon.  A clear late summer evening  just prior to  the moon rising is a good time to photograph this spectacle in the sky.  The fine vertical line to the left of the Milky Way is caused by light reflecting off a passing satellite.
